What a season for the Toppers! Not only did the Science Hill football team win eight of their thirteen games, but the Toppers made it to the season playoffs for the first time since 2018. The football team earned two playoff wins; a feat not met in over ten years.

One star of the 2022 football season is the running back, wide receiver, and quarterback, Tyler Moon, who earned his place as the 2022 Times News/Johnson City Press Elite 11 player of the year. Moon set a school record of 31 touchdowns, helping our Toppers succeed through the season.

A moment of huge Topper success was Science Hill’s win over Dobyns-Bennett High School. On Friday, October 28th, Science Hill competed against their rival, Dobyns-Bennett. The game was close, with fans going crazy on both sides of Kermit Tipton Stadium. In the final minutes of the game, Science Hill pulled through, resulting in a final score of 34-32.

Although our Toppers didn’t make it to the championship, Science Hill had a very successful season. The Toppers’ highest score was 49 points and they managed to pull four wins in a row. Science Hill’s success has created a new window of opportunity for the future of Science Hill football and a legacy for our future team to live up to.
